Hi,
If you have a function/party at your home and if there is excess food available at the end, don't hesitate to call 1098 (only in India) - child helpline. They will come and collect the food. Please circulate this message which can help feed many children.
PLEASE, DON'T BREAK THIS CHAIN, "Helping hands are better than Praying Lips".

http://www.childlineindia.org.in/ are providing very good service but they do not collect food and distribute
You can read this in thier home page
"Caution: We understand there is a chain mail circulating that says - one should call up 1098 to pick up left over food after a party etc so that it is not wasted. We are India 's only and most widespread Children's phone emergency outreach service (1098) for children in need of care and protection. We do not pick up food or distribute food. This mail was not initiated by us, kindly do not circulate it. Your cooperation is appreciated."

this helpline denied to
this helpline denied to collect the food...they said we take raw food...n now tell me wht do u mean by saying if food is left at the end pls call on ths number n they will collect
this is nt done. if possible please change the statement
Situation should improve
I can read some comments that childline is not working or they are not accepting the cooked food.
1) Just because they are not picking the call doesn't means that we stop calling. Rather we should make it an issue so that a day will come when they start taking the call. May be this message is read by someone who can take steps against those people who are not picking the call
2) How can they accept the cooked food. You never know the quality of food which is already cooked. No one will take the responsibility of feeding the children that food which is already cooked. Even if I would have been at their place I wouldn't have accepted the cooked food. So they are right on their part.
This is what I want to say.
correct info
1098 number exits and is children helpline in India.....

Hi,
Hi,
People on internet are also working for the cause of child helpline. Here I can see that people are complaining that helpline is not working but my friends many people don't know what is helpline and why should they call?
So if there are such people then for them I have to say see this:
http://www.ekprayaas.com
And then decide whether to call helpline or not.
Thanks
Raghuveer
