There were three prisoners, one of whom was blind. Their jailor offered to free them all if any one could succeed in the following game.
The jailor produced three white hats and two red hats and, in a dark room, placed a hat on each prisoner. Then the prisoners were taken into the light where, except for the blind one they could see one another.
The game was for any prisoner to state correctly what color hat he himself was wearing. The jailor asked one of those who could see if he knew and the man answered no. Then the jailor asked the other prisoner who could see and he answered no.
The blind prisoner at this point correctly stated the color of his own hat winning the game for all three. How did he know?

solution
Well here the answer 'no' seems to be a code word here. Since the prisoners donot know the color of that he himself was wearing, he answered the color of the hat the other prisoner(who could see) was wearing i.e. 'no' means 'not white'. So, since the blind person now know that neither of the two prisoners who can see are not wearing white hat, he must be wearing a white one coz there are only two red hats and three white hats...
verify me..
Solution with explanation
First man can say yes..if other 2 men had red. he says no means white/white or red/white
First and second man knows blind man color.
If the blind man was red, the second man can easily say yes. (according to first man's answer both're not red)
If the blind man was white, then the second man must say no.
So third man must be white.
Doesn't really work
The first two could have white, the third red.
The first will say no because of a red/white combintation.
The second will say no because of a red/white combination.
The third will answer red.
Please read my explanation
Please read my explanation once again..
if third is red..second will say that his hat is white.. coz there is no possibility of 2 reds basing on first person reply..
Plz read it carefully...
If third person is red..the
If third person is red..the second person must have only white.. he can't have RED hat.
Basing on first person reply.. it is clear that second and third person dosen;t have red hats.. ther is one red and one white hat or white and white hats.
If the third person is having red hat..it's obvious that secodn must have white..and he would have said yes.
He says NO means the third perosn is not red, it's white and second person may be white or red. so he said NO.
I hope you got it..
