Government of India has an online Grievance forum at

The government wants people to use this tool to highlight the problems they faced while dealing with Government officials or departments like Passport Office, Electricity board, BSNL/MTNL, Railways etc etc.
I know many people will say that these things don't work in India , but this actually works as one of our colleague in CSC found. The guy I'm talking about lives in Faridabad . Couple of months back, the Faridabad Municipal Corporation laid new roads in his area and the residents were very happy about it. But 2 weeks later, BSNL dugged up the newly laid roads to install new cables which annoyed all the residents including this guy. But it was only this guy who used the above listed grievance forum to highlight his concern. And to his surprise, BSNL and Municipal Corporation of faridabad was served a show cause notice and the guy received a copy of the notice in one week. Government has asked the MC and BSNL about the goof up as its clear that both the government departments were not in sync at all.
So use this grievance forum and educate others who don't know about this facility.
This way we can at least raise our concerns instead of just talking about the ' System ' in India . Invite your friends to contribute for many such happenings.

Hi,
Even I had some great experience from ministry of labour, Employees provident fund division.
I had submitted my PF withdrawal form in EPF office Peenya - Bangalore after resigning from my company. But even 3 months after my submission ,the pf was not released.when enquired I found that they released my PF but my bank account number was wrongly entered in the payment cheque and it got rejected from my bank.
While submitting the PF withdrawal claim, we are asked to keep a cancelled bank cheque as account number proof. In my case, even after keeping a cancelled cheque with my application, the PF employees did clerical mistake that resulted in a/c number mismatch on payment cheque.
When asked about the issue , I got the plain reply from them that No matter who has done the mistake, I have to resubmit my claims once again for getting the PF released.
I got the E mail ID of Bangalore Regional PF office and Public grievences Cell under ministry of Labour. I sent one mail to both IDs showing the details of my grievence.
I was really surpriced to receive a mail from EPFO - Bangalore , fifteen days later that they have enquired about the issue and released my PF.
Now I really understood that our goverment system is not so irresponsible or corrupt as the majority says.

I bring the following facts to your kind attention for prompt and remedial actions.
On 9th April 2008 I, along with other members of my family started our journey to H. Nizamudin by train No. 2641 Thirukural Exp. from Kovilpatti.. We traveled in Coach No. B1(Third A/C) and our ticket No. was PNR 416-1213978 . On boarding the train we were provided with Pillows, woolen blankets and white bed sheets.
A couple of hours before the arrival of train at H.Nizamudin station we were all put in an acutely embarrassing situation when the Coach attender who spoke only Hindi demanded that we pay Rs 400/- for two of the bed sheet allegedly missing. We place our entire luggages before him with the request to thoroughly check our belongings. But his intension only seemed to be to receive money from us. The similar tactics were used with other co-passengers who, unable to stand the insult, paid him a big amount in order to silence him.
But we were kept under intense pressure till we reach H.Nizamudine Railway station. My sons who had come to receive us intervened and talked to the attender to take up the matter to railway superintend, whereupon the attender sneaked away without disclosing his name though we asked for it.
This kind of tricks, we were told, is regularly played on the gullible passengers from the south for extracting money from them.

Settlement of Claim (PF A/c No. WB/5033/119)

I had submitted duly filled-in PF withdrawal form Nos. 19 & 10C in EPF office Salt Lake, Kolkata on 10.12.2007, after resigning from my company for settlement of claim against the above A/c No. But even after 5 and half months of my submission, the pf is not yet released for reasons unknown to me. I have also requested CPFC, Delhi to look into the matter.
As I am going through a financial crunch, your kind intervention may speed up the process.
